Bonito

Float with fish through the clear, clean waters of remote Bonito. In the crystal clear rivers and streams that bubble up through the limestone bedrock, you can swim with huge fish, visit an unbelievable jewel-blue grotto and search the surrounding countryside for wildlife like peccaries and macaws. Popular with Brazilian travelers, this slice of paradise is little-known among international tourists.

Day 1
You will be met in Campo Grande and driven four hours to Bonito. You can select to stay at Cabanas de Bonito or Pousada Olho D'Agua. Cabanas de Bonito are located in a beautiful area between two crystalline rivers. Here you it will be able to find spacious and comfortable guest rooms all with in harmony with nature. You can also stay in tree houses. The rooms and the tree houses are all equipped with TV, air-conditioning and mini bar. Pousada Olho D'Agua is surrounded by woods, an orchard and wildlife.
The pousada has 20 guest rooms which are equipped with necessary facilities for a peaceful getaway. Enjoy relaxing before dinner is served. D

Day 2
After breakfast, your English speaking guide will pick you up at the pousada for a visit to the famous Blue Lake Cave (Gruta do Lago Azul). From the entrance you start with a 40 minutes walk towards the cave, and after descending 100 meters, you will see the lake with crystal clear water. The depth is 72 meters and in the morning when the sunbeams hit the lake, the water will have an intense blue color, explaining the name of this cave.

In the afternoon we'll visit Rio da Prata where lunch will be served here. After lunch we will walk through an interpretative trail in the Rio da Prata (Silver River) forest. Along the trail, you will glimpse birds and wild animals. The trail finishes at the place where the snorkeling begins: The Olho D água River. As you enter the transparent lake, formed by the many fresh water springs of the Olho D água River, you will discover a new sub aquatic world. There is a curious sensation of flying as we float in this crystal clear water surrounded by amazing fish and vegetation. After that you will go down river to find a fantastic world with colors and forms of infinite beauty. Mask, snorkel and neoprene clothes are included in the package.

After this tour, we visit the nearby Buraco das Araras —the Hole of the Parrots. A huge crater that sits in the middle of an otherwise flat landscape, and Greenwing Macaws make their nests here. We’ll watch as they fly around below us in the crater. Back to Bonito at the end of the afternoon. B,L,D

Day 3
After breakfast your guide will pick you up at the pousada and we'll head for the National Park of Serra da Bodoquena, where we will visit the Boca da Onça Ecotour. Here a safe trail leads you through the jungle about 5.5km (3.1 mi) with magnificent scenes. You will see hundred-years-old trees and 12 waterfalls, including the highest of the State of South Mato Grosso, the Cachoeira Boca da Onça (Jaguars mouth waterfall) with a height of 156m (512 ft). There are several stops for a refreshing dip at natural swimming pools with a massage, offered by the waterfalls, which the Indians already enjoyed. Lunch is included and back at the reception you can take a rest or use the swimmingpools with hydro-massage and real typical fish of this region. At the end of the afternoon return to your pousada in Bonito, where dinner will be served. B,L,D
