Belize is famous for its laid-back attitude
and
the island of Ambergris
Caye is the perfect place to celebrate it. Everything
on the island is calm and stress-free, from the breeze in the coconut
palms, to the waves lazily lapping the shore. Ambergris Caye, the
largest of several hundred cayes (islands) located in the northern
most waters of Belize. This narrow
strip of paradise surrounded by the azure Caribbean,
is approximately 36 miles long and was once a part of the Yucatan Peninsula.
It is believed that the Mayans occupied the area over 1500 years
ago and dug a narrow channel to separate Ambergris Caye from Mexico. This trip
this is a PEFECT add on to a mainland Belize itinerary!
Snorkel
on the many small reefs and flats or take a boat ride out to
the incredibly diverse cayes. Pick a spot on the white-sand
beach just to relax. The snorkeling and diving are phenomenal. The
waters are also perfect for water sports like kayaking, fishing,
and sailing. This trip provides all those options in one laid-back
location!
